TEKKEN 8 is a fighting game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Arika and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was announced during Sony's State of Play on September 13, 2022, and released on January 26, 2024, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, marking the first Tekken title built exclusively for current-generation hardware. It's the second Tekken game to use Unreal Engine, following Tekken 7, and the first fighting game overall built on Unreal Engine 5.

The story picks up six months after Tekken 7, continuing the saga of the Mishima bloodline with a central focus on the devastating conflict between Kazuya Mishima and his son Jin Kazama. Jun Kazama, absent from mainline entries since Tekken 2 in 1995, returns as a focal point of the narrative and a playable character. The roster launched with 32 characters spanning series veterans like Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, King, and Lars Alexandersson alongside newcomers including Azucena.

The Heat System is the game's headline new mechanic, giving players a way to lean into aggressive play by incorporating offensive attacks directly into their strategy. Heat can be activated either by executing a Heat Engager move, which sends the character rushing toward their opponent, or through other specific triggers during a match, with each character receiving unique enhancements and movement options while Heat is active. Rage Arts return from Tekken 7's Rage system, and the game's environments are more destructible than in previous entries, with certain interactions, like a character being slammed against a wall, capable of triggering large-scale stage destruction.

Beyond traditional versus matches, Arcade Quest offers a guided, story-driven introduction to the game's fighting fundamentals through a custom avatar, letting new players learn the ropes in a lower-stakes setting before jumping into competitive modes. Full cross-platform play connects Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players in the same matchmaking pool. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions were never released, with the game built solely around current-generation hardware. TEKKEN 8 holds a Metacritic score of 89.
