About The Last of Us Part I
The Last of Us Part I is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by PlayStation PC LLC. Originally released for PlayStation 5 on September 2, 2022, the PC version launched on Steam on March 28, 2023, marking the first time the original Last of Us story has been available on PC. The game is a full remake of The Last of Us (2013), rebuilt using the PlayStation 5 engine. It follows Joel, a hardened survivor living in a walled-off quarantine zone twenty years after a fungal outbreak has decimated civilization. When a smuggling job requires him to escort Ellie, a teenage girl with a potential immunity to the infection, across what remains of the United States, the journey pushes both characters in ways neither anticipated.
Gameplay combines third-person action with stealth and survival. Resources, including ammunition, crafting materials, and medical supplies, are scarce and must be managed carefully throughout. Infected enemies behave differently depending on their stage of mutation, and human factions add further danger across the journey. The game rewards patience and careful observation alongside direct confrontation.
The PC version includes the Left Behind DLC, a separate story chapter following Ellie before the events of the main game. Additional modes include Speedrun Mode, Permadeath Mode, and Photo Mode. PC-specific features cover AMD FSR 2.2 and NVIDIA DLSS upscaling, ultrawide monitor support up to 32:9, full control remapping, keyboard and mouse support, and DualSense haptic feedback through a wired connection. Two exclusive in-game cosmetics for Ellie are unlocked after completing the main story.
