A Gothic Open-World
Explore a vast world teeming with mythical horrors and danger. Players take on the role of a vampire who has spent centuries in deep slumber and awakened in a severely weakened state. The world of Vardoran has grown hostile during the long sleep: holy armies patrol its regions, garlic fields slow movement, and sunlight deals constant damage on exposure. The goal is to feed, gather resources, craft increasingly powerful gear, and reclaim strength by defeating V Blood carriers, powerful boss enemies scattered across the world.
Killing a V Blood target unlocks new spells, abilities, and crafting recipes tied to that boss, making each hunt a meaningful step in character progression. V Blood bosses range from minor village leaders in the early game to formidable creatures in high-level biomes.
Castle building is central to progression. Players construct and expand their base using a fully customizable tile-based system supporting multiple floors and a wide range of rooms. A castle must be maintained with a blood essence supply to prevent decay, requiring regular feeding runs outside its walls.
The game spans multiple biomes with escalating difficulty, from forested lowlands and farmlands to gothic highlands and ancient ruins. Each region holds its own enemy types, materials, and V Blood targets.
V Rising supports solo play and online multiplayer for clans of up to four players. Servers can be configured for cooperative or full PvP play, with castle raiding available on PvP-enabled servers. The 1.0 release completed the main storyline and added new biomes, bosses, and optional paid cosmetic DLC based on the Castlevania series.
