Description
Kazuma Kiryu thought his Tojo Clan days were behind him. He and the young girl in his care, Haruka Sawamura, have built a peaceful life from the ashes of conflict. All it took was a single gunshot to shatter that peace. Yukio Terada, the Fifth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, has been assassinated. With war on the horizon, the legendary Dragon of Dojima is pulled back into the world he wanted to leave behind.
Kiryu must travel to Sotenbori, Osaka in an attempt to broker peace between the rival clans, but Ryuji Goda, known as the Dragon of Kansai, will stop at nothing to get his war. In this world, there can only be one dragon.

About Yakuza Kiwami 2
Yakuza Kiwami 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega, built on the Dragon Engine originally used for Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. It's a full remake of Yakuza 2, the 2006 PlayStation 2 original, and the second remake in the Kiwami line following 2016's Yakuza Kiwami. The game was released for PlayStation 4 on August 28, 2018, with the PC version originally arriving on Steam in May 2019. That original PC port was delisted in December 2025 and replaced by an updated version, released December 11, 2025, adding expanded language support including French, German, Italian, Spanish, and more.
The story picks up a year after the events of Yakuza Kiwami. Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima, has left the Tojo Clan behind and built a quiet life with a young girl named Haruka Sawamura. That peace shatters when Yukio Terada, the Fifth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, is assassinated, threatening to plunge the clan into war with a rival organization. Kiryu is pulled back into the underworld he tried to leave and travels to Sotenbori, Osaka, in an attempt to broker peace before Ryuji Goda, the Dragon of Kansai, drags both sides into open conflict.
Combat carries over the Dragon Engine's brawling system from Yakuza 6, with devastating combos, cinematic Heat Actions, and environmental takedowns that let players turn nearly anything in the environment into a weapon. Beyond the main story, Kamurocho and Sotenbori are packed with side activities, including the Cabaret Club management minigame carried over from Yakuza 0, karaoke, batting cages, blackjack, and a clan creation system pulling in guest appearances from New Japan Pro Wrestling stars.
A bonus scenario called the Majima Saga is included, unlocked over the course of the main story, giving players control of Goro Majima, the "Mad Dog of Shimano," and filling in the gap between the events of Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2. The PC version adds features not present on the original PlayStation 4 release, including 4K resolution support, unlocked framerates, customizable controls, and a field-of-view slider, the first time the series has included one.
