The game is led by Patrice Désilets, best known as the creator of the original Assassin's Creed, and drops players into a Golden Age Amsterdam split between opulent daytime splendour and a dark, supernatural reckoning that surfaces after dark. Players take on the role of Noa Brooklyn, "The Collector," raised by the mysterious Zaindaris to hunt down The Originals, ancient entities who have lived for centuries hidden behind human faces and now owe a debt for the power they've abused.

Gameplay is built around a day-night investigation loop. During the day, players explore a meticulously handcrafted recreation of 17th-century Amsterdam, gathering clues and identifying which citizens are secretly Originals in disguise. At night, marked targets are confronted in their true forms during lunar Esbats, with each encounter shaped by strategic choices, timing, and approach. A key feature of the game is its dual-character system: players can switch between Noa, who commands witchcraft and spellcasting passed down through generations, and Aaron, a cat summoned from 1999, whose feline perspective offers a completely different playstyle built around stealth and exploration. The Early Access release covers roughly the first 10-15 hours of the campaign, with the full game planned to expand into a much larger, fully explorable Amsterdam spanning multiple boroughs.

Reception so far has been mixed, holding 63% positive across Steam reviews, with players responding well to the atmosphere and central concept while the game continues to develop through Early Access.
