Does MW4 Have Omnimovement?

No, there's no MW4 omnimovement. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 drops the system Black Ops 6 and 7 were built around, so MW4 movement feels slower and more grounded, and Tactical Sprint is no longer something every player gets for free.
You do get a cleaner set of slides, mantles, and climbs, plus a few settings worth changing before your next match.
We'll break down what changed, how Tac Sprint works now, and the movement settings that matter.
MW4 Movement Summary
MW4 has no omnimovement. You can't sprint, slide, or dive in every direction like in Black Ops 6 and 7.
MW4 tactical sprint is off by default and lives on the Blood Rush perk in Perk 2.
With Blood Rush, pressing sprint triggers Tac Sprint automatically, which you can change in Movement Advanced Settings.
Slide canceling returns, according to preview coverage.
Mantling keeps your momentum, and ledge hangs come back with a wall shimmy.
During the beta, Infinity Ward cut slide distance by 10% and slide speed by 9%.
TTK went up slightly after the beta through weapon tuning, with base health left alone.
Why MW4 Omnimovement Didn't Return
MW4 has no omnimovement. Infinity Ward told preview outlets that Modern Warfare can play differently from Black Ops, and the system that let you sprint, slide, and dive in any direction stayed behind in Black Ops 6 and 7.
Directional sprinting and wall bouncing are gone too. Your sprint goes forward, and gunfights lean more on positioning than on mid-air tricks.
Preview coverage reports that slide canceling survives, along with sliding straight into aim-down-sights. The same previews say you can dive backward into prone, which gives you a defensive escape without the full omnimovement kit.
Infinity Ward's launch tuning focuses on clear weapon roles, and slower movement gives those roles more room to matter.
How MW4 Tactical Sprint Works Now

MW4 tactical sprint is no longer on by default. The launch patch notes move it to the Blood Rush perk, which now sits in the second perk tier. Since it costs a perk slot, Infinity Ward also removed the extra sprint-out penalty.
With Blood Rush equipped, pressing sprint triggers Tac Sprint automatically. The default input is single-tap run, which keeps you in Tac Sprint for as long as stamina lasts.
Two other inputs remain for players who want control. Double tap and single tap sprint let you choose when to burn stamina, and you'll find them in Movement Advanced Settings.
So is Blood Rush worth the slot? On small, fast maps like the one in our Shipment guide, it's less useful, and on bigger maps it helps you reach lanes first. Our best MW4 loadouts show where it fits in a class.
MW4 Slide Cancel, Mantling and Climbing
Sliding got slower through the beta. The beta patch notes list a 10% cut to slide distance, a 9% cut to slide speed, a longer slide-to-jump delay, and 8% less stamina. Activision hasn't said whether every one of those values carried into the launch build.
Preview coverage says MW4 mantles keep your momentum, so vaulting a car mid-sprint doesn't stall you, and you can mantle with your weapon raised.
Ledge hangs return from Modern Warfare II, reportedly faster than before, and you can shimmy along a wall during a hang. Ladders, poles, and pipes are climbable, and the beta notes mention fixing climbing stutter on ladders and pipes.
Double-tapping slide from prone triggers a supine slide onto your back, according to preview coverage. It looks flashy, and it slows your aim-down-sights time, so save it for dodging grenades or peeking under cover. You'll get the most out of these tricks on the vertical maps in our MW4 maps list.
TTK and the Settings Worth Changing
Time to kill went up a little after the beta. Infinity Ward tuned individual weapons for durability instead of changing base health, and the launch notes say players at every skill level strongly preferred the second beta weekend's version.
Slower movement and a longer TTK work together. You get a beat longer to react when someone slides around a corner, which rewards good crosshair placement over pure speed. Our crosshair settings guide helps with that side.
Open Movement Advanced Settings once before your next session. If you play objective modes, the auto Tac Sprint default is fine, and if you play slower, switching to double tap saves stamina for the moments you need it.
Movement takes practice to rewire after two years of omnimovement. MW4 bot lobbies give you low-pressure reps. Call of Duty accounts come with progress already built.
FAQs About MW4 Movement
Final Words
Putting Tac Sprint behind a perk is the biggest change in MW4 movement, bigger than losing omnimovement. Every class now has to choose between speed and another perk, and that choice shapes the whole pace of a match.
Watch how the community reacts once Season 1 lands. Infinity Ward called the beta change an experiment, and it could shift again if lobbies turn too slow.
I'd play a few matches without Blood Rush before deciding. You may find you don't miss it as much as you expected.
