MW4 Shipment goes live on October 27, according to Activision's MW4 maps and modes launch blog. It joins the 12 Core maps from launch day as a post-launch 6v6 map.

Activision calls it the infamous small map. This version sits in a Russian harbor, with water on one side and concrete panel buildings from the nearby city on the other. The classic layout returns, updated with MW4's visuals and gameplay changes.

Why Shipment Speeds Up the Camo and XP Grind

Shipment has always meant constant fights in past Modern Warfare games, and the camo grind runs on fights. The MW4 Gold camo needs 15 eliminations in a single Multiplayer match, after all 8 Military and 3 Special camos on that weapon.

On a large map, 15 eliminations can take a whole match. On older versions of Shipment, you were rarely more than a few seconds from the next enemy, and the classic layout suggests the same here.

What to Bring to Shipment

Close-range classes have ruled Shipment in past Modern Warfare games, and I'd expect SMGs and shotguns to lead again here. MW4's launch patch tuned SMGs for close to mid-range fights, which only helps on a map this tight.

If you're chasing camos, I'd hold your Gold attempts on close-range weapons until Shipment arrives, and use the first weekend for Military and Special camos instead.

Shipment also shares its first week with Halloween. Infected returns, and the new Possession mode lets you take over the position and loadout of each player you eliminate. Both party modes arrive for Halloween in the lead-up to Season 1.
