Mumbai has the story hook. Price hunts Makarov's people through the city in the campaign, and our MW4 campaign review covers that chase.

Shipment arrives on October 27, four days after launch, on a Russian harbor squeezed between the water and concrete apartment blocks. Our best MW4 loadouts guide has close-range setups for it.

How MW4 Kill Block Builds a New Map Every Round

MW4 Kill Block is Activision's name for the Westbridge Training Facility, a live-fire arena built from three sections: two outer areas and one central combat space. The sections swap between rounds and land in random spots each match.

Activision counts more than 500 combinations. Some sections are brand new, and others borrow from Crash, Highrise, and Shoot House, which gives longtime players familiar sightlines. Weather ranges from clear skies to rain and snow.

At launch, Kill Block hosts Gunfight in 3v3 and 10v10, and the launch patch notes promise 6v6 modes after launch. Classic 2v2 Gunfight also returns on four small maps: Cafe, Library, NYC, and Smuggler.

I'd expect less map memorization here and more reacting on the fly. A pre-aim that works on one layout can leave you exposed on the next.

Ground War and Combat Outpost on Three Maps

Ground War runs 32v32 at launch on Imjin Farmland, Wolves Stadium and Forest. Imjin Farmland covers the rural outskirts of Hajin, Wolves Stadium sits in its dense center, and Forest fills the wooded hillside between them.

Its new mode, Combat Outpost, is Activision's take on Domination at Ground War scale. Captured Outposts become new spawn points, and reinforcing them earns team rewards such as a Local UAV, a JLTV airdrop, and a Light Tank.

Imjin Farmland and Wolves Stadium were in the beta, and Forest is new. Hajin doubles as the DMZ map, so Combat Outpost teaches you its streets before you deploy there.

Warzone Gets Zodiac and Hajin in Season 1

Season 1 adds two maps to Warzone. Zodiac is a new Resurgence map built by Beenox, with a train running through it.

Hajin, the DMZ map, is also coming to Battle Royale. Activision hasn't dated Season 1 yet, and the new version of Warzone waits for it.

Your camo grind on the MW4 multiplayer maps stays useful. The launch patch notes say camo progress is shared across Multiplayer and DMZ, and Warzone joins once Season 1 starts. If you want a head start, CoD Points top-up for the Season 1 Battle Pass will do it.

Final Words

Korea carries this launch. Five Core maps sit on the peninsula, and Hajin covers DMZ, the Ground War maps, and, soon, Battle Royale. Kill Block is the wild card. With 500+ combinations, nobody will have it learned in week one, so new players start almost level with veterans there.

Shipment lands on October 27, and the launch patch notes say Infected and the new Possession mode arrive the following week for Halloween.

Which maps will you learn first? Start with the six Core maps that skipped the beta, where everyone goes in blind.
