What is Baron Power Play in LoL?

Baron Power Play Definition
Baron Power Play Definition

A Baron Power Play refers to the gold advantage a team gains while having the Baron Nashor buff over the opposing team. Here's a more detailed explanation of how it works:

  • When a team slays Baron Nashor, they gain the Baron buff which gives them bonuses to stats and empowered recall. This buff lasts for 3 minutes.
  • During the time one team has the Baron buff, they tend to gain more gold than the opposing team by taking more objectives, getting more kills, farming more efficiently, etc.
  • The Baron Power Play number tracks the difference in gold gained between the team with Baron Buff and the opposing team during the buff duration.

 For example:

  1. Before Baron: Team A has 40k gold & Team B has 40k gold
  2. Team A takes Baron buff
  3. After Baron buff expires: Team A has 50k gold (+10k) & Team B has 45k gold (+5k)
  4. During the Baron buff, Team A gained 5k more gold than Team B, so at the end of Baron buff, the Baron power play value was at +5000
