Quickplay is a game mode in League of Legends that replaces the traditional Blind Pick queue on Summoner's Rift. In Quickplay, players pre-select their roles, champions, runes, and summoner spells before entering the queue. This provides a more efficient experience for those seeking casual games or quick practice sessions.
Quickplay Champion Select

In Quickplay, players make their champion and role selections in the lobby before joining the queue. Each player chooses a primary and secondary role, along with preferred champions for each. The system uses "Priority" roles, which are dynamically determined based on current queue demand, to ensure balanced team compositions and shorter queue times.
Players can customize their runes, summoner spells, and skins, directly from the lobby. Once all selections are made and the queue pops, players are sent straight into the loading screen, bypassing the traditional champion select phase entirely.

Quickplay Party Size Rules
Quickplay adapts its rules based on party size to maintain fairness and diversity in champion and role selection:
- For solo players: Two unique champions and positions must be selected, with at least one being a "Priority" role.
- Parties of 2-4 players: Players follow solo rules, but must also have at least one unique champion per player and unique primary role selections across the party, as this prevents role stacking and ensures team diversity.
- Full 5-player parties: The game requires each player to select a unique champion and role, ensuring a complete and balanced team composition from the start.

How do Quickplay Matches Work?
Once in-game, Quickplay matches play out similarly to standard Summoner's Rift games, with a few key differences that enhance the overall experience.
At the start of each match, clear visual indicators highlight players' assigned lanes. This feature is particularly helpful for those who may have queued for multiple roles, ensuring everyone quickly understands their position on the team. These indicators help reduce confusion and allow teams to spread out efficiently from the beginning.
Quickplay also features a more lenient surrender system, acknowledging its casual nature and the desire for shorter game times when matches become one-sided. Surrender votes become available at the 15-minute mark, requiring agreement from four out of five team members. To prevent drawn-out matches, the surrender requirements are further reduced at the 25-minute mark, where only three out of five players need to agree to surrender.
Quickplay introduces an interesting element with the potential for mirror matchups, where the same champion can be selected by both teams. Additionally, since Quickplay is an evolved version of Blind Pick, it utilizes the same MMR that players had for Blind Pick.

Benefits of Quickplay Mode
The mode provides faster access to gameplay by eliminating the champion select phase, appealing to those with limited gaming time or who prefer a rapid-fire League of Legends experience. By using pre-queue role selection, Quickplay significantly reduces conflicts over role selection that were common in the old Blind Pick mode. Teams enter the game with clearly defined roles and expectations, leading to a smoother start to matches.
Within the constraints of the priority role system, players have a higher likelihood of playing their preferred champions and roles. This leads to more enjoyable matches and provides opportunities for focused practice on specific champions or positions.
For newer players, Quickplay presents a more approachable environment to learn and practice the game. The simplified pre-game process reduces the complexity of getting into a match, while the clearer role assignments help newcomers understand team compositions and lane assignments better.
