About Golf With Your Friends
Developed by Blacklight Interactive and published by Team17, Golf With Your Friends launched in full on April 20, 2020 following a successful Early Access period, establishing itself as one of the most popular party games on Steam. The game takes mini-golf and strips away any pretence of realism in favour of chaotic, fast-paced fun for groups of up to 12 players competing simultaneously. Thirteen themed courses each containing 18 holes offer a wide variety of environments and mechanics — from a pirate cove filled with moving cannons and ship hazards to a Worms-themed course packed with references for long-time fans of the franchise, a candy land course, a volcano, a space station, and more.
Three core game modes keep the experience fresh across sessions. Classic mini-golf focuses on stroke count, Hockey swaps the hole for a goal, and Hoops replaces the hole with a basketball hoop, fundamentally changing how each shot needs to be approached. Power-ups add a layer of friendly sabotage to every match — trap an opponent's ball in honey to slow it down, freeze it in place, or transform it into a cube that rolls unpredictably. A built-in level editor allows players to create, share, and play community-made courses, extending the game's content significantly beyond the official offerings. Golf With Your Friends holds a Very Positive rating on Steam with over 90% positive reviews across tens of thousands of players and remains one of the most played party games on the platform years after its full release. A sequel, Golf With Your Friends 2, is in development and scheduled for a full release in Fall 2026.
