Murder Mystery 2 Ancient Weapons for Sale
Ancient is the second highest rarity in Murder Mystery 2, sitting directly above Godly and below only the Unique tier. The official wiki describes Ancients as the least abundant weapons in the game, and that scarcity is the whole reason mm2 ancient weapons hold their prices the way they do. Every Ancient came from a limited holiday event, and once those events closed, no new copies ever entered the game again.
They also look nothing like the rest of the weapon pool. Every Ancient knife in the game resembles an axe, scythe, hammer, crossbow or sniper rather than an actual knife, which makes them instantly recognisable in a lobby even before anyone checks the tier label.

What Colour Is Ancient in MM2?
Ancient weapons are marked purple in Murder Mystery 2. Each rarity carries its own colour in the inventory, with Unique shown in orange at the top of the ladder and Godly shown in pink below Ancient, so the purple label is a quick way to spot an Ancient without checking a value list first.

What You Will Find in This Category
The Ancient listings on GameBoost cover both weapon types, with Ancient knives like Elderwood Scythe, Icewing, BattleAxe II, Logchopper and Vampire's Axe alongside Ancient guns like Harvester, Icepiercer and Sunrise. Prices run from a couple of dollars for the more common event pieces up to the fifty dollar range for scarcer ones, so the tier is more accessible than its reputation suggests.
Anyone looking at Ancients for their trade only status is usually also worth pointing toward Vintage weapons, which carried over from the original Murder Mystery and can likewise never re enter the game.

How to Get Ancient Weapons in MM2
Every Ancient weapon originally came from one of three routes, and two of them are permanently closed:
Event tier rewards. Most Ancients were bought by grinding a holiday event and spending event currency at a specific tier. Harvester came from tier 30 of the 2021 Halloween event for 80,000 Candies, Icepiercer from tier 20 of the 2022 Christmas event for 75,000 Snow Tokens, and the Elderwood Scythe from tier 40 of the 2019 Halloween event for 80,000 Candies.
Event gamepasses. A small number, including Batwing and Icewing, were sold directly for Robux during their events at 2,499 Robux each. Those passes have long since gone offsale.
Developer gifts. Nik's Scythe was never available to buy at all. Nikilis handed it out personally to players who helped resolve bugs and issues, which is why only a handful exist and value lists simply mark it as priceless.
Since every one of those events has ended, trading is now the only in game way to get murder mystery 2 ancient weapons. Buying one directly skips the search for a trade partner who both owns the piece you want and is willing to part with it.

Is Ancient Better Than Godly in MM2?
Ancient ranks higher than Godly on the official rarity ladder, but higher rarity does not automatically mean higher value, and this is where a lot of newer traders get caught out.
The tier tells you how the weapon entered the game. Ancients came from closed events, so supply is fixed and small. Godlies come from boxes, codes, bundles and crafting, so supply keeps growing. That makes Ancient the rarer category as a whole.
Value works differently. Demand decides what an item actually trades for, and plenty of Chroma weapons, which sit inside the Godly tier, trade far above most Ancients. Chroma Traveler's Gun sits around 220,000 while common Ancients like the Elderwood Scythe or Icewing trade in the double or even single digits. At the same time, the most valuable Ancients such as Gingerscope hold five figure values that almost no standard Godly reaches.
So the honest answer is that Ancient is the rarer tier, but neither tier is uniformly better. Judge the individual weapon and its demand rather than the label attached to it.

MM2 Ancient Weapons FAQ
Ancient weapons are purple in Murder Mystery 2. Unique sits above it in orange and Godly sits below it in pink, so the purple tag identifies an Ancient at a glance.
Ancient is the rarer tier, ranking second highest against Godly in third, but rarer does not always mean more valuable. Chroma weapons inside the Godly tier regularly trade above most Ancients, while top Ancients like Gingerscope outvalue nearly every standard Godly, so the specific weapon matters more than the tier.
Trading is the only way to get Ancient weapons in MM2 today. Every event that originally handed them out has closed, and the gamepasses that sold Batwing and Icewing went offsale years ago, so no new copies enter the game.
Every Ancient knife in the game is modelled as an axe, scythe, hammer, crossbow or sniper rather than a conventional knife. It is a deliberate design choice that makes the tier visually distinct from the rest of the weapon pool.
Ancients are the least abundant weapons in the game, numbering only in the dozens across both knives and guns, which is a fraction of the roughly one thousand tradeable weapons Murder Mystery 2 holds overall.
