About Predator: Hunting Grounds

Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetric multiplayer shooter developed by IllFonic, working closely with 20th Century Fox on the license. It was released on April 24, 2020, for PC via the Epic Games Store, with the Steam version following on April 29, 2021, and PlayStation 4. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions launched on October 1, 2024, with IllFonic taking over publishing duties from Sony Interactive Entertainment as part of that expansion. It was the first full Predator console game in nearly two decades.

Set across the remote jungles of the world, the game pits a four-player Fireteam of elite operatives against a single player controlling a Predator. The Fireteam must complete paramilitary objectives while avoiding detection, using vehicles, weapons, and teamwork to survive, while the Predator player stalks them from the trees using cloaking, thermal vision, and an arsenal of alien weaponry to hunt them one by one. The film franchise's cast returns to voice key characters, including Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising Alan "Dutch" Schaefer from the original 1987 film, Alice Braga returning as Isabelle from Predators, and Jake Busey reprising Sean Keyes from The Predator.

Progression is built around Field Lockers, a randomized reward system unlocked through gameplay or purchased with Veritanium, the in-game currency earned through matches or found hidden across maps. Field Lockers grant cosmetic customization for both Fireteam operatives and Predator classes, with duplicate items converted into additional currency rather than wasted. Numerous premium Predator classes have been added as paid DLC since launch, each with distinct lore, weapons, and abilities, alongside masks, war paints, and other cosmetics.

The game has continued receiving new content well beyond its original 2020 launch, with the Jotun Predator, a brutal and cybernetically enhanced class inspired by Norse mythology, added as recently as January 2026 alongside a new Shock Gauntlet weapon.
