About Rayman Legends
Rayman Legends is a 2D platform game developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and published by Ubisoft, directed by Michel Ancel. Originally revealed for Wii U, the game was delayed several times before Ubisoft confirmed ports for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows, with the various platforms releasing between August and September 2013, and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions following in February 2014 with faster loading times and additional costumes. It's the fifth main entry in the Rayman series, built on the UbiArt Framework, and a direct sequel to Rayman Origins.
The Glade of Dreams has fallen into darkness while Rayman, Globox, and their Teensy friends slept for a century, giving nightmarish creatures the chance to spread chaos across the land. Awakened at last, the group sets out to reclaim the Glade, exploring beautifully hand-drawn worlds filled with platforming challenges, hidden secrets, and a wide range of collectibles. Along the way, players encounter the treasure-hungry Teensies and can rescue and recruit the game's cast of playable characters, each with slightly different traits, to join the adventure.
Combat and traversal use Rayman's signature moveset, blending running, jumping, gliding, and hand-to-hand attacks against a colorful roster of enemies. Musical Stages are one of the game's most celebrated features, syncing level layout, enemy patterns, and platforming challenges directly to the rhythm of a curated soundtrack, turning each of these levels into a kind of playable music video. Kung Foot, a chaotic four-player soccer-style minigame using Rayman's signature punch attack, is included as a separate multiplayer mode. Up to four players can team up in local co-op throughout the main game, with Murfy able to interact directly with the environment using touch controls on supported platforms.
Rayman Legends received widespread critical acclaim at launch, earning praise for its level design, visual presentation, and music integration, and holds a Metacritic score of 89 across its various platform releases.
