It was announced in March 2022 and released just three months later, on June 10, 2022, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, marking the shortest development period of any Supermassive Games title.

Set at the fictional Hackett's Quarry summer camp on the last day of the season, the story follows nine camp counselors whose final night of freedom before returning to their normal lives quickly spirals into a fight for survival against blood-drenched locals and darker forces lurking in the surrounding woods. Played from a third-person perspective, players regularly make decisions that shape character relationships, story direction, and ultimately which of the nine counselors survive until dawn.

Gameplay blends quick-decision sequences with slower exploration, letting players investigate environments and interact with objects to advance the story. As with Supermassive's previous titles, character death doesn't trigger a game over screen; instead, the story adapts and continues without that character, reflecting the consequences of choices made along the way. The game can be played solo or with friends, either locally through a pass-the-controller mode or online with up to seven others weighing in on every decision. Movie Mode, new to the series, lets a group experience the entire story as a more passive, cinematic watch-through rather than actively playing, catering to players who enjoy watching narrative games as much as playing them.

The Quarry received generally positive reviews, with praise for its narrative design, characters, cast performances, and homages to classic horror films, while some criticism was directed at its gameplay depth, camera system, and abrupt endings.
