About Alien: Isolation Nostromo Edition

The Alien: Isolation Nostromo Edition bundles the full base game with the Crew Expendable bonus mission, developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA. All three playable characters in Crew Expendable can be selected freely from the mission menu.

The Crew Expendable mission is a standalone bonus level set aboard the Nostromo, directly within the events of the 1979 Alien film. It takes place shortly after Brett is killed by the creature. The surviving crew members have a narrow window to act before the situation becomes unrecoverable. Players can choose to play as Dallas, Parker, or Ellen Ripley, with each character bringing their own perspective on the situation. The goal is to track the Alien through the ship's corridors using sound and movement, herd it toward an airlock, and flush it into space before it kills again.

What makes the mission distinct from the main game's campaign is the setting. Players step directly onto the Nostromo as rendered by Creative Assembly, recreating the analog-technology aesthetic of the film in full. The original cast of the 1979 film returned to record their dialogue for the mission, including Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Harry Dean Stanton, and Ian Holm, making it the only officially licensed and fully voice-acted interactive recreation of events from the original Alien.

The main campaign of Alien: Isolation follows Amanda Ripley on Sevastopol fifteen years after these events. The Crew Expendable mission serves as a companion piece, grounding the world of the game in the film that inspired it.
