New traversal mechanics, wall climbing, gliding, double jumping, and swimming, are available from the start and used throughout exploration and combat across Kairos.

Post-campaign content includes Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode with harder enemies and better drop quality, weekly contracts across the open world, and Moxxi's Big Encore Machine, a system that lets players farm defeated bosses without reloading saves. Invincible boss encounters targeting endgame players were added in post-launch updates.
