My Team is F1 2020's flagship new addition, letting players create their own F1 team from scratch. Players choose a constructor name, select an engine supplier, sign a second driver, and then compete as the team's driver-owner. Between race weekends, players manage finances, develop facilities, negotiate sponsor deals, and handle performance research to grow the team over multiple seasons. It runs alongside the traditional Career mode as a separate option.

F1 2020 includes 22 circuits from the 2020 Formula One calendar as it was originally planned, before the pandemic caused changes. Two new additions that year were Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands and Hanoi Circuit in Vietnam, both making their debut in the game. The full circuit list covers all the traditional venues, including Monaco, Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Suzuka, and others.

The Standard Edition includes the full base game. The Deluxe Schumacher Edition adds four classic Michael Schumacher cars: the Jordan 191, Benetton B194, Benetton B195, and Ferrari F1-2000. It also includes an exclusive Schumacher in-game driver model, unique race suits, helmet designs, and a podium celebration. The Deluxe Edition also granted three days of early access ahead of the standard launch date.
