Survival mechanics are woven into every aspect of play. Hunger, bleeding, radiation, and fatigue must all be managed throughout each session. Artifacts scattered across the Zone offer powerful buffs but expose the player to radiation while carried. Anomalies function as environmental hazards with their own physical rules and can be navigated, exploited, or avoided depending on the situation. The game features a non-linear narrative with multiple branching story paths and different endings. Mod support is available through Steam Workshop.
