About Tom Clancy's The Division 2
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is an online action role-playing game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. It was released on March 15, 2019, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows. It is the sequel to Tom Clancy's The Division (2016) and runs on Massive's proprietary Snowdrop engine.
The game is set seven months after a genetically engineered virus known as Green Poison devastates the United States. Players control an agent of the Strategic Homeland Division sent to Washington, D.C., to help rebuild the city, restore order, and counter rival factions competing for control in the aftermath of the collapse. The studio designed the campaign to run roughly twice as long as the original Division at launch, with a heavier focus on endgame content based directly on player feedback from the first game.
Combat blends third-person cover shooting with RPG mechanics including gear scores, skill modifications, and specialization trees. Cooperative missions can be tackled solo or with up to three other players, and the Dark Zone returns as a contested PvPvE area where extracted loot carries real risk of being lost to hostile players along the way.
A February 2021 update brought 60fps performance to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, running the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. The game continues to receive substantial content updates years after release, with a 10th Anniversary Showcase unveiling an extensive Year 8 roadmap including a new DLC, a Realism Mode raising the stakes of combat encounters, and themed crossover content drawing from other Tom Clancy franchises including Rainbow Six Siege, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon.
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 holds a Metacritic score of 84, and the game is available through Ubisoft+ Classics, included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. If you are already a subscriber, you can access it through your membership. If you do not have Game Pass Ultimate, GameBoost offers Xbox Game Pass gift cards as an alternative way to get started.

Yes. The Division 2's main campaign and most missions can be completed solo, with AI-controlled enemies scaling to a single player. Some endgame content and the toughest difficulty tiers are designed with co-op in mind and are considerably easier with a full team.
The Dark Zone is a contested PvPvE area where players scavenge for the game's best loot while facing both AI enemies and other hostile players. Extracted gear must be flown out via helicopter, and other players can attack and steal loot during extraction, adding real risk to every run. Going Rogue by attacking other players marks an agent for retaliation across the zone.
Yes. Massive Entertainment continues to support the game years after launch. A 10th Anniversary Showcase outlined a Year 8 roadmap including a new DLC, a Realism Mode for higher-stakes combat, and crossover cosmetic content themed around other Tom Clancy franchises including Rainbow Six Siege, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon.
