About Yakuza 0 Director's Cut
Yakuza 0 Director's Cut is the enhanced edition of Yakuza 0, developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by SEGA. It was released on Steam on December 8, 2025, following the Nintendo Switch 2 launch on June 5, 2025. The Director's Cut is the currently available version of Yakuza 0 on Steam, replacing the original release. The Director's Cut builds on the full Yakuza 0 experience with two main additions exclusive to this version.
The first is a set of never-before-seen cutscenes that expand on the story and characters from the original game. These scenes provide deeper context for key incidents and explore character backstories that the original left less fully developed. For returning players, they add a new perspective on moments from the original story. For players experiencing the game for the first time, they are woven into the experience naturally.
The second addition is Red Light Raid, the first online multiplayer mode in the Yakuza series. Up to four players can join a session and choose from a roster of 60 playable characters to fight through waves of enemies cooperatively. The roster spans protagonists, antagonists, and supporting figures from across the franchise's history, making it a notable feature for long-time series fans. The mode is fully separate from the main story campaign and designed as a standalone co-op experience.
The Director's Cut also introduces English and Chinese voice dubbing alongside the existing Japanese audio, giving players additional options for how they experience the game's dialogue throughout the campaign.
