About Enshrouded

Enshrouded is a survival action RPG developed and published by Keen Games GmbH. It entered Steam Early Access on January 24, 2024, for PC, with a full 1.0 release planned for Fall 2026 alongside versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The game is set in Embervale, a once-thriving fantasy world now overrun by the Shroud, a dangerous and corrupting fog that has mutated its inhabitants. Players step into the role of the Flameborn, ancient warriors awakening after centuries of slumber, tasked with taking back the land from the creatures and enemies that now control it. The world is open and filled with ruins, temples, and secrets to uncover as players push further into Shroud-covered territory.

Gameplay mixes exploration, base building, crafting, and real-time action combat from a third-person perspective. The skill system lets players build characters across three archetypes, Ranger, Warrior, and Mage, picking and combining abilities to match any preferred playstyle. Voxel-based building gives detailed creative freedom when constructing bases and settlements. Unlike most survival games, Enshrouded removes mechanics like hunger and sleep, keeping the focus on exploration and combat rather than resource micromanagement.
