Save the World is Fortnite's PvE mode available through Starter Packs purchased from the Item Shop. Non-Founder accounts earn X-Ray Tickets instead of V-Bucks from gameplay. X-Ray Tickets function exclusively within Save the World for purchasing X-Ray Llamas from the Llama Shop. These tickets cannot be spent in Battle Royale or converted to V-Bucks. Llamas provide heroes, defenders, survivors, and schematics for weapons and traps needed to progress through the campaign.

The mode features the same building mechanics as Battle Royale but focuses on defending objectives against AI zombie waves. Players harvest resources, construct fortifications, set traps, and complete missions across four zones: Stonewood, Plankerton, Canny Valley, and Twine Peaks.
