PAX Twisted Fate was released in 2009 as an exclusive giveaway for the first 20,000 attendees of the Penny Arcade Expo. Riot distributed physical code cards at the event, meaning PAX Twisted Fate account ownership was tied entirely to being present at that specific convention. No other distribution method existed at the time of release, and the skin was never made available through the in-game store.
The design gives Twisted Fate a sleek black outfit with blue trim, a cape featuring the PAX 09 logo, and cards replaced with tarot-style designs. Like most skins from that period, it carries no custom particles, animations, or sounds, but the visual identity and the PAX branding on the cape are what made it recognizable from its first appearance in a game.
Riot permanently disabled all skin code redemptions in 2014, closing the last way to get a PAX Twisted Fate account. It has never been made available through Hextech Crafting, Mystery Gifting, loot boxes, or any event since. The PAX skin line continued with PAX Jax in 2010 and PAX Sivir in 2011, and Riot later released Neo versions of both through the Mythic Essence shop, but PAX Twisted Fate has no Neo equivalent and has remained completely out of circulation since 2014.
