Iron Rank Divisions and How They Work in LoL

Iron is the lowest tier in the League of Legends ranked system, introduced in Season 9 when Riot restructured the ladder. This League of Legends rank runs from Iron IV at the bottom up to Iron I at the top, with Iron IV being the starting point for players who place at the very bottom of their provisional matches. Iron IV is the lowest rank in the entire game, and Iron I sits at the top of the tier of that rank, one step away from Bronze IV, which is the next rank up after Iron.

Each division within Iron functions the same as every other tier below Master, requiring 100 LP to move up from one division to the next. Queue restrictions in Iron are the most relaxed on the ladder, allowing Iron players to duo with partners up to two full tiers above them in Solo/Duo queue. Iron, Bronze, and Silver together make up the bulk of the ranked player base in most regions, showing how the ladder is weighted toward the lower ranks.

Players in Iron are typically working through the core fundamentals of the game, including last-hitting, map awareness, and basic champion mechanics, and buying a League of Legends Iron account puts you directly at the bottom of that ladder with a ranked profile already in place.

Why Do Players Look for Iron League of Legends Accounts?

Iron LoL accounts serve a niche but consistent role in the account market. Players choose to buy League of Legends Iron Accounts primarily to create a smurf account at the lowest possible Rank, letting them practice new champions, test unconventional builds, or play in a low-pressure ranked environment without using their main profile. Iron League of Legends accounts are also used by players who want a completely fresh ranked record on a separate profile, starting their climb from scratch in a region or queue they haven't played before.
